OVERVIEW

Since its modest beginnings in 1857, as a British tin mining outpost the capital that takes its name from the muddy swamp upon which it was built has grown into one of Southeast Asia's most progressive cities. Located on the Western Peninsula of Malaysia and home to 1.8 million people, Kuala Lumpur is a truly cosmopolitan city and more importantly a great city for a soccer tour.

Experience the magic of Malaysia, the city with Towers more famous than Singapore's ! Chelsea and Newcastle have played in KL, now it is your turn. Given the close proximity of KL to Singapore this tour accommodates a Friday night departure by plane or by coach and a choice of quality hotels - satisfying all budgets.

Saturday is free and easy giving your team the chance to explore the golden triangle. A Saturday evening kick off against local opposition in your choice of stadium either Bukit Jalil National Stadium, MPPJ's stadium or at PKNS, this is the highlight - following which  KL's red hot night life is ready to be discovered.  Traveldestinée brings this soccer experience to Singapore Teams.

PACKAGE FEATURES

Football - One match on Saturday night in superb stadium of your choice, kick off will be early evening

Accommodation -  Accommodation options are available to suit all budgets, single and double-rooms available - our preferred hotel partners are Nova Hotel, Park Inn or Concorde given their perfect location in the heart of the city. If you have a favorite hotel, let us know and we will see what we can do for you.

Tourism - Golden Triangle- Designer shops, up market restaurants and five star hotels are all a part of the Golden Triangle. Here you'll find the steel and chrome Petronas Towers (the tallest building in the world and featured in the film "Entrapment") are a must visit for all first time visitors to KL.

The twin towers were opened in 1997, and have become one of the city's main icons, looming into the heavens. Standing 452m (1483ft) high, the buildings are joined by a 58m (192ft) Sky bridge at the 41st and 42nd floors.

The Menara KL , or Kuala Lumpur Tower, the fourth highest communications tower in the world is a good alternative to take in the superb panoramic views.

Other attractions include China Town market in the heart of the old city, the best way to see Chinatown is on foot. A crowded, noisy, vibrant area of KL, Chinatown is a paradise for those interested in curios and exotic oddities. You'll find old shop-houses selling everything from traditional Chinese herbs and medicines to jewelry and baskets. Fortune tellers, flower sellers, sign painters, haberdashers all display their wares on the pavements. Popular items with soccer teams from Singapore have been cheap soccer jerseys of your favorite premiership club, "discount" designer watches, and the latest movies and software can usually be found here.

Food and Drink/Nightlife - After your game we suggest you taste for yourself Malaysian  cuisine described by previous tour bandits as "a taste of heaven on earth". Encounter the delights of Nyonya Baba, Chinese, Malay and Indian cuisines. Delicious food in generous portions is served everywhere from hotels and resorts, restaurants and cafés to coffee shops and simple stalls... or you can stick to the well tried and tested menus at the Hard Rock Café.

Kuala Lumpur features many electric nightspots from karaoke lounges, jazz bars, pool halls, pubs, discos, dance clubs and wine bars. Most establishments are concentrated in the Golden Triangle, the area between Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang (your hotel will be in the heart of the action don't worry).

Transport - If your team selects to travel to KL by plane then the most efficient way to reach the centre of town is via the KL express. A team coach however will collect your team from your hotel and take you to the MPPJ stadium.

If you decide to take the coach from Singapore, the coach will take you all the way to your hotel in KL

FLIGHT TO KUALA LUMPUR

For flights to KL the cheapest option is Japan Airlines who depart from Changi at 1800 hrs on a Friday evening and return on Sunday evening departing at 2000 hrs. The other two obvious airlines to choose would be Singapore Airlines or Malaysia Airlines who depart from Changi every 45min. Upon arrival at KLIA your team must take the KL express into town.. very easy.

COACH TO KUALA LUMPUR

Taking the coach to KL is another cheaper alternative, which can give you the real feel of soccer team tour, as soon as you jump in the coach the boys are officially on tour. You make a few stops on the way up to KL in order to grab some "makan" and take a leak. The journey will take up to 7 hrs depending on the traffic and the number of "pit stops". The coach will however take your right up the door of your chosen team hotel.
